The spark module sends high voltage to each igniter. When it fails, burners stop clicking or click continuously, and the fault is often shared across all burners rather than one.
Appliance part
Electric Surface Element
Coil elements plug into a receptacle under the drip pan.
They fail open or shorted, and a burned receptacle can take a new element out with it, so inspect both before replacing.
Symptoms of a failed electric surface element
- One burner does not heat
- Element heats only in patches
- Burner trips the breaker
Fitment
Elements are matched by diameter, wattage and terminal type; the receptacle may need replacement too.
Before you buy
Confirm the model and serial plate before ordering — two parts can look identical and still not fit. If you would rather not fit it yourself, request a repair quote and we will route it to an independent technician.
